R. Kenyon Wells is a 1970 Graduate of David Lipscomb University, Nashville Tennessee. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.
In 1970, he started his career as a District Manager at American Dairy Queen for the State of Tennessee. He then moved on to become District Manager and Southeastern Specialist for Baxter/Travenol Laboratories, Inc. in Deerfield, Illinois.
In 1974-80, he was an independent distributor for South Carolina for the United States Surgical Corporation. While in this role, he moved to Columbia, South Carolina, started with US Surgical pioneering and developing surgical staples to be used in many future major surgeries. For 4 years after that, he was a distributor for Intermedics, Inc, a startup company entering into the Pacemaker Industry in Lake Jackson, Texas. Starting from 1984, Kenyon was a distributor for Biotronik, Inc. for the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Augusta and Savannah, Georgia in pacemakers and cardiac defibrillators. During this time, R. Kenyon Wells and Associates, Inc. was launched. Additional disposal medical products were added along with additional sales people for two and a half states. At the end of 2017, Kenyon accepted a buyout and sold R. Kenyon Wells and Associates, Inc. He is now looking at other ventures to continue his entrepreneurial spirit.
From 2011-18, he served on the State Department of Health and Environmental Control Board appointed by Governor Nikki Haley. He is proudly married to his wife, Cathy of 43 years. They have two children along with 5 grandchildren. He is an active member of the Radius Church in Lexington, South Carolina.
